SERVING NEW ENGLAND & BEYOND

OUR COMMITMENT TO
SUSTAINABILITY
SUPPORTING LOCAL GROWERS & DOING OUR PART IN EVERY WAY
Responsible Food Sourcing
The quality of your meal begins with the quality of the ingredients we use. At Capers Catering, we are deeply committed to sustainability, and have the utmost respect for the food we source, and the dedicated growers and artisans behind it. We recognize the untold care, devotion, time, and effort that goes into responsibly cultivating every leaf of lettuce, creating every grain of flour, harvesting every scallop, and so on.
We are therefore focused on forging partnerships with local farms and food purveyors who understand our shared responsibility to not only create and serve premium-quality food experiences, but to make every conceivable effort to do so sustainably, while minimizing our collective carbon footprint. We are proud to have built a network of local partners committed to sustainability, and to be able to support our surrounding community of responsible farms, artisans, harvesters, and other food sources—whether small-batch, family-owned, Certified B Corp, or all of the above.
Throughout the year, we strive to craft our menus in symbiosis with the seasons of New England, and source as locally and sustainably as Mother Nature allows. When your event or menu selection falls outside the growing season, our partnership with larger companies capable of sourcing premium foods beyond our local community—yet dedicated to the most sustainable practices possible—ensures we are always serving you the freshest, highest quality, most responsibly produced fare available to create your personalized world-class dining experience.

Sustainable Sanitation,
Composting & Recycling
Our deep commitment to sustainability extends to our sanitation practices both in Capers’ kitchen and at events—from composting food scraps to responsibly hauling away gray water from clambakes/lobster boils, we reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle in every possible way.
We recycle used grease to make biodiesel through our local partner, Baker Commodities. We reuse containers as frequently as compliance with state and local laws will allow. In balance with our sanitation commitments, we are also reducing our dependency on plastic wrap and disposable gloves. Highly aware of our carbon footprint, we use only the most essential chemicals in our cleaning practices, and choose the most environmentally friendly products and materials possible for every use.
